About the Bear Hotel Woodstock
The Macdonald Bear Hotel is an attractive former coaching inn in the Oxfordshire countryside. The hotel can be found in the historic town of Woodstock. Woodstock is famous as the location of Bleinheim Palace, 18th century country estate, UNESCO world heritage site and birthplace of Winston Churchill. The area also has several royal connections, most notably as the location where Elizabeth I was imprisoned during the plot to overthrow Queen Mary I.
